Day & Night Blinds

Alternating sheer and solid bands that tune a street-facing room hour by hour — privacy from the pavement by day, near-solid coverage once the lights go on inside.

01

One blind, two moods

Day & night blinds run alternating sheer and solid horizontal bands on a continuous loop. Align the bands and light filters through the sheer sections while the solid ones soften the direct view in — the classic setting for a street-facing living room or study during the day. Offset them fully and the bands overlap into near-solid coverage, the setting most people switch to once the lamps are on and the room is more visible from outside than in.

02

Built for close streets

Kenilworth Upper's stands sit closer together than the estate suburbs further out, and a bay-window living room or a street-facing study is often only a few metres from the pavement or a neighbour's upstairs window. A day & night blind lets you keep that room bright and the view out intact while controlling exactly how much the street sees back in — without resorting to full blockout during daylight hours.

03

Where it isn't the answer

Even fully offset, light still seeps at the band edges, so this is not a true blockout product — a nursery or a nap-time bedroom wants a blockout roller or a cellular honeycomb blind instead. The sheer bands are also delicate against pets and small hands at reach height, and moisture-sensitive fabrics belong away from steamy bathrooms, where an aluminium venetian does better.

  • Standard roller hardware — chain, spring or motorised, cassette optional
  • Fabric range from light-filtering through to semi-blockout bands
  • The classic pick for street-facing living rooms, studies and dining bays

One honest limit

Not true blockout, even fully offset — a nap-time bedroom or nursery wants a blockout roller or cellular blind. We'll always say so at the free measure rather than sell the wrong product for the room.

Where we fit day & night blinds

From Kenilworth Upper's bay-window streets to Rondebosch and Claremont Upper's own close-set Victorian rows, this is the default for a street-facing living room across the corridor.
